(出帆だ！　出帆だ！)

　「さあ みんな、帆を上げろ！　追い風が吹いている！」　　イングランドを離れる船出の歌。
新しい航海への昂る気持ちを歌っています。　シーシャンティーの中でも最も有名な曲の一つで、
世界中の合唱団で歌われています。　OMCでは創立以来、この歌をテーマソング（団歌）にして
います。

For many a stormy wind shall blow
Ere Jack comes home again

Oh! heave ho! My lads, the wind blows free,
A pleasant gale is on our lee,
And soon across the ocean clear
Our gallant barque shall bravely steer.

【解説】
注意点１．
船出の歌だが、２種類の解釈がある。
（１）イングランドを離れる為の船出。
（２）故郷のイングランドに帰る為の航海の船出。
間違いなく（１）の解釈でいいのだが、
(a)But ere we part for freedom's shore tonight,
(b)But ere we part from England's shore tonight,
(c)But ere we part from Freedom's shore tonight,
このような表現の違いがある。
for　と　from　の違い、freedom's shore　がどこなのか、
この解釈の仕方によって、（２）の雰囲気も出てくる。
同時に、ミスプリ説も生じてくる。
しかし、(a)は外国の自由な地、(c)はイングランドの事(大文
字なので)、
と解釈すれば、(a)(b)(c)いずれも（１）の解釈にできる。

注意点２．
Hearts will be　forgiven upon the waters blue.
この部分は、いくつかの種類がある。
Hearts will beat for him upon the waters blue.
Hearts will be forgiven on the waters blue
Who will think of him upon the waters blue.
などなど。
***********ここで注意していただきたいのは、
before given up　ではなく、
be forgiven
upon　と区切ってもらいたい事です。*************

注意点３．
根底となる歌詞は１種類だが、どこまで歌うかによって、
何種類ものアレンジがある。
Sailing, sailing, over the bounding main. 　からの繰り返
し部分。
Oh! heave ho! My lads, the wind blows free,　で始まる１
番。
The sailor's life is bold and free,　で始まる２番。
The tide is flowing with the gale,　で始まる３番。
フルサイズで演奏している曲もあれば、
繰り返し部分だけ使用して３分の曲にしているものもある。
大阪メンズコーラスは、繰り返し部分と１番を使用している。
